Veteran defender Happy Jele has left Orlando Pirates having attained unquestionable legendary status following his 16 years stay with the club.
‘Magents’ arrived at Pirates in 2006 from amateur club Walter Stars and immediately made his debut against Maritzburg United in the club’s first league match of the 2006/07 season. The rest of the crew that took to the field on that September 20, 2006, evening included Isaac Chansa, Lucky Lekgwathi, Blaise Lelo-Mbele Fikru Tefera, David Makgale, Edward Malinga Paulus Masehe, Lebohang Mokoena, Avril Phali, Lehlohonolo Seema, Lucas Thwala, Tso Vilakazi, and Excellent Walaza.Jele’s first trophy came courtesy of the 2010 MTN8 playing from start to finish in that penalty shootout victory over Moroka Swallows.
