In 2015 she got her break, thanks to a learnership programme and a partnership between the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority and the Expanded Public Works Programme . Mditshswa says her life has changed since joining the programme. She is paid R1 650 a week. “I am able to do everything for myself and my child. I am able to pay school fees and buy groceries.”
“I want to have my own workshop similar to this one, and fix cars. I want to help people from my village and employ them and empower them with the skills that I got here.
