Hamilton ’s festive season gets underway in earnest this weekend as the town begins a packed programme of special events with its new Hamilton Loves Christmas week to support local businesses.

The Regent Centre’s Christmas lights will be switched on at 4pm on Saturday, with a busy programme of entertainment throughout the day including dancers, music and a magician. Hamilton Loves Christmas week culminates with a special day of festivities leading to the switch-on of the town’s Christmas lights on Saturday, November 23, described as “the highlight of the year in our town centre”.
Markets will again take place at the Regent Centre on Saturdays December 7 and 21 – accompanied by a pop-up panto on the former date and then a town centre trail featuring Santa on the weekend before Christmas.
