Prices at the Pumps - May 3, 2024 #saltwire #pricesatthepumps #gaspricesAleksandra McKeown got on her bike for the first time this season, not knowing it would be her last for a while.
McKeown lives in Spryfield and works as a continuing care assistant at the Halifax Infirmary, and she often rides her bike to work in the summer. She takes this route often and has been cut off in the past, but nothing like this.It was a sunny, clear day. McKeown took every safety measure, wearing a helmet and reflective jacket, and using the lights on her bike.
“There were barely any cars around,” said McKeown. “Then all of the sudden, I remember blacking out.” “I remember being woken up in the ambulance and they were asking me what happened, but I didn’t know.” “Two men got out of the truck, shouting that they didn’t hit me, and sat with me until the ambulance came. So that’s nice to know that they stayed.”
