The last time fans heard from the Hairy Bikers was back in October 2022 when Si gave an update about Dave's health, and reassured everyone he was "doing really well" and was a "tough old boot"., he said: "It's going really well. He's still in the trenches of his chemo and treatment but all the numbers are going well and he's getting stronger by the day and more positive by the day. He's a tough old boot, you know, he's from Barrow in Furness.
Dave shocked fans when he publicly announced he was undergoing cancer treatment in May 2022 revealing that he would be a ‘baldy Biker’ for a while due to the side effects of chemotherapy. He revealed on his podcast with Si at the time: ‘Anyway Kingy, I’ve got to come clean now, I haven’t been too well recently and basically, I’ve got to have some chemo, you know all this anyway.
