Understanding all their attacks and new Omega moves is crucial to surviving combat encounters with enough health to take on the bosses.
Omega Attack: Pick a target and you’ll dash past an enemy before dealing a lethal backstab for 100 damage. This move costs 10 Magick.Omega Special: Throw up to five daggers based on how long you charge it, dealing 50 damage per dagger. It costs 10 Magick plus 1 Magick for each extra dagger. While most games give you better weapons over time, Hades 2 puts one of the best weapons in your hands right from the start. With a mix of melee and ranged attacks, you can chart multiple strategies based on the boons you receive from the gods. Your Attack and Special have decent range, letting Melinoe strike from safety. This approach to combat pushes the Witch’s Staff to our S-tier.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Hephaestus’ timed interval attack boons are the strongest when paired with the Moonstone Axe’s high starting damage. You can also opt for boons that grant status effects but none match the metalwork god’s sheer damage potential outside Aphrodite’s close-range buffs. Zeus’ Blitz condition drops lightning strikes on a foe if you deal enough damage, making their boons another prime pick.
Ranged attacks promise safety in Hades 2 and the Umbral Flames are a prime example. While spewing projectiles from a distance can take a while to get used to, this lets you stagger enemies and stay out of harm’s way. Firing off a string of attacks will pin you in place though, making you easy pickings for nimble enemies like the skeletal assassins of Ephyra. Your Omega moves will help you counter this with more damage but require a steady supply of Magick.
Special: Dash forward with the skull, dealing 25 damage to enemies you pass through. Note that, unlike a regular dash, you are not invincible and can take damage.
