The Pwn2Own hacking competition runs from 22 to 24 March 2023, with $1,080,000 (R19.6 million) up for grabs.

Security researchers successfully showed off Windows 11, macOS, and Tesla Model 3 zero-day exploits on the first day of Pwn2Own in Vancouver, Bleeping ComputerOn day one, the winners took home $375,000 in prize money. Synacktive won a Tesla Model 3 after successfully exploiting a time-of-check-to-time-of-use attack against the electric car.The first piece of software exploited at the 2023 competition was Adobe Reader.

However, cybersecurity firm Synacktiv was the biggest winner on the day, taking home $140,000 and a Tesla Model 3. Other winners included Qrious Security’s Bien Pham, who took home $40,000 and Marcin Wiązowski, who won $30,000 .
