Hacienda legend Graeme Park turns to fundraising after tragic death of his son Oliver
Graeme Park has set up a charity crowdfund to help fund research into the rare cancer that claimed the life of his 18-year-old son. Oliver Park died last week, after losing his battle with sarcoma, a type of cancer which begins in the bones and then spreads to the soft tissues.
The post on the Just Giving campaign explains: “After complaining of leg pain over a long period, Oliver was eventually diagnosed as having a malignant nerve sheath tumour that was a type of sarcoma.“Sarcomas are uncommon cancers that can affect any part of your body. A key symptom of sarcoma is a lump that gets bigger quickly. Most people get diagnosed when their sarcoma is about the size of a large tin of baked beans.
“Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community.”
