STELLARTON – It takes the efforts of many groups, volunteers, and companies to create a new home for a young family.

Donna Williamson, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia, said the day showcases the ‘why’ in Habitat’s efforts. “It has been an extraordinary experience. I am amazed at how volunteers...have been willing to pitch right in to undertake tasks they’ve never done before.”For his part, Graham said it was a wonderful day.Marley MacDonald spoke on behalf of Nova Scotia Liquor Commission, which was one of the home sponsors of the project.

Stellarton Mayor Danny MacGillivray was the first local Habitat committee chairman and the driving force in getting the project underway in 2016. He was inspired to see if Habitat did projects in small communities after seeing a large one completed in Spryfield.
