The minister assessed the ''state of education'' in the Limpopo province,

Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube says their target is to completely eradicate pit structures in schools by March 2025.Gwarube says the department is dedicated to improving infrastructure in schools.

“Nationally, we are sitting at 266; here in Limpopo, we are sitting at 31. I engaged the MEC on this and they are at various stages of implementation in the various schools. So, I am confident that if we work together and if we blacklist the implementing agents that do not do government works, we can meet the target,” says Gwarube.

The Minister and Deputy Minister of Basic Education, along with Limpopo’s MEC of Education, Ms Lerule-Ramakhanya, are greeted warmly at Pietersburg English Medium Primary School in Polokwane as they begin their national Listening and Learning Tour.
