Guptas arrested in India in connection with suicide of prominent builder
Controversial businessmen Ajay Gupta and his brother in law, Anil Gupta, were arrested on Friday in India for their alleged involvement in the death of a prominent builder in DehradunThey fled the country as civil resistance against Zuma rose and also refused to attend the Zondo commission which investigated state capture .
The charges against Ajay and Anil in India are related to legislation that makes incitement to suicide illegal. Sahni specifically wrote in his suicide note about threats, coercion, and interference in his construction projects.My father was under severe stress as the police insisted on his presence regarding a false charge that the Guptas had opened in Saharanpur. Due to all the stress, he did not go there. The police then set Friday as the deadline for his appearance.
At the bottom of this handwritten letter, Sahni concluded in capital letters with “please save my family.”
