"The detective sergeant was declared dead at the scene by the emergency medical personnel while the female victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention," Mashaba added. "The suspects followed the victims to the place and fired several shots at them before they could enter the yard and fled the scene," Mashaba said.Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe visited the scene along with senior police management officials, the Hawks and forensics officials.
"We are deeply shocked and saddened by the senseless killing of one of our own. This cowardly act is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by our officers, even when they are off duty," the commissioner added.We live in a world where facts and fiction get blurred
