Salt Lake City police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting at a park that left 2 people injured, including a possible bystander.
SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting at a park on Monday night that left two people injured, including a possible bystander.
About 7:30 p.m. at 17th South River Park, 1150 W. 1700 South, the alleged gunman approached a pickup truck in the parking lot and shots were fired. He then turned and allegedly fired a round into a crowd of about 30 people who were either watching or participating in a nearby soccer game in the park. Police say the crowd included teens and younger children.
was located "in a field to the south of the initial shooting scene" by police K-9s searching the area, according to police, and was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. Detectives believe that man may have been injured in the initial shooting near the truck.This story will be updated.
