The victim was fatally shot while sitting in the back of a taxi
The murder comes just three days after a teen with links to the Brothers Keepers gang was shot to death on the Trans-Canada Highway in Burnaby. A second man was also wounded in the shooting at 2:29 p.m. Saturday near the Kensington overpass.in the 1100-block of Eastlawn Drive in Burnaby.Meysam Zaki, 18. Investigators did not release the name of the wounded man.
“We are releasing Mr. Zaki’s name in hopes that witnesses will come forward who can assist us in building a timeline of his whereabouts in the time leading to his death,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said. “Any associates of Mr. Zaki or the second victim are urged to speak with police.Just a week earlier, three young men suspected of being involved in the drug trade were shot in a parking lot at the South Surrey Athletic Park. Two died and a third was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
