The attack has left six dead and 20 injured.
Victims include pupils and a security a guard at the school located in the Russian city of Izhevsk, around 750 miles east of Moscow with 650,000 residents. Ambulances and fire services have arrived at the scene, and all teachers and pupils have now been evacuated.
The shooting took place at school number 88, which holds around 1,000 pupils and 80 teachers in total. The motive for the shooting is unclear. Russian media have posted videos online which appear to have been filmed inside the school where the shooting has taken place.
