Guerrilla Games has discussed the decision to move away from its beloved Killzone series in favour of Horizon Zero Dawn.
With the last Killzone game released in 2013 for the PlayStation 4’s launch, gamers have begged for a sequel, but the studio is “done” with the franchise. With Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered on the way and an assumed third game in development, Guerrilla is keen to let fans know that a new Killzone isn’t in the works anytime soon. Killzone is done Speaking to the Washington Post, Guerrilla Games art director Roy Postma explained that the studio needed something different to work on.
” The art director also explained that, unlike the gritty and violent world of its sci-fi shooter series, Horizon is more flexible in terms of audience. With Horizon, the franchise can be easily turned into a game from children such as the upcoming LEGO Horizon Adventures, but Killzone can’t be adapted that way.
