Guardiola Drops Fresh Man City Future Hint
With Pep Guardiola now in the final year of his contract with Manchester City , the six-time Premier League winner has dropped a new hint about his managerial future.With the Catalan native having less than 12 months remaining on his existing deal, the 53-year-old has been the subject of intense speculation as questions begin to mount about his what next move could be.
There have been rumours that the 2024/25 season could be his final campaign in charge of the Citizens, but the City hierarchy are believed to be trying to convince the former midfielder to extend until 2026. If he does, Guardiola will have been at the City helm for a decade, and while it remains to be seen whether this is a milestone he views as being worth committing to, he did recently express that he feels rejuvenated after the off-season break and is ready to contest for a fifth consecutive Premier League title.
"If you love what you do, why should I stop? I like it – as much now as when they hired me – so let's go," the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich head coach said at a PUMA block party near New York’s Rockefeller Centre, as per the Guardiola did verbalise his interest in coaching the Brazilian national team in the past, and more recently, he has been linked with the England national team job.
