It was inspired by the annual World Car Free Day, which encourages people to use other means of transport and is taking place on Friday. It started with just 13 participants - eight children and five adults - but now has 50 children and 35 adults. "They are making lifelong memories and as a society, we need to embrace this enthusiasm and provide them with the infrastructure that they deserve."
"Other children and their adults have seen us arrive together and asked how to join in - it's snowballing."The group said there was only one cycle lane near their school in Grove Park
