Nine people detained, one missing after group crossing into U.S. from Manitoba calls 911, suffering from hypothermia

Nine people were detained and one was missing after trying to walk across the Canada-United States border in the early hours of Tuesday morning, a Minnesota sheriff says.

“Some were transferred to hospital but the majority of them were pretty good,” Gust said. “They were wet and had frozen clothing.” Manitoba RCMP had people in the area, including a search and rescue team looking for the reported missing person.
