SuperSport United striker Bradly Grobler believes that the lack of proper development structures in South Africa is starting to show on the field of play. Read more ➡️

South Africa is amongst countries in Africa that failed to qualify for the World Cup finals in Qatar this year despite enjoying good resources both on and off the field of play.

The DStv Premiership is still rated amongst the top 10 leagues in Africa but still there is no team that has won any major international tournament in the past five years.

“I have been asked many times regarding strikers in South Africa but if we are completely honest, I think South African football as a whole has not been to up standard. If we are completely honest the lack of development in South Africa for many years is showing now. Today how many clubs have got really good academies? Go and look at it,” said Grobler .

“There is big amount of pressure put on strikers because it’s easy to judge strikers because there are no goals, but I feel in all different departments we not up to standard. We could be far better than what we are with right development structures. "Like I said strikers get judged because of goals but players in other departments don’t get judge because there is no particular criteria that other players get judged on. With the amount of talent in the country we should be far in terms of our football," he added."You must be
