The former councilman says he hasn’t ruled out running for either the open District 8 City Council or mayor’s seat in the May 2025 election.
Greg Brockhouse wants back into local politics — not that he has been out of it that long. Brockhouse, who’s operating a mattress and furniture business on the Northwest Side, is considering running for mayor or City Council in the May 2025 municipal election. “I love the work, and I think I would stand a pretty decent chance of doing well,” he said. “My name ID is off the charts, and no one would ever outwork me. But you have to earn it.
“The people who vote in District 8 are really concerned about infrastructure and public safety. They are anxious about growth and how that growth has impacted the North Side.” However, the fact that Brockhouse has a record to run on could make him a “formidable” contender for council, said Eddie Aldrete, who runs his own consulting firm, Aldrete Strategic Partners, and has business ties.
