Plans for a car park as part of the £18m development of a train station near Glasgow have progressed after a lease was agreed.Two small pockets of land are also being handed over to Network Rail for a “nominal fee” to allow the project to move forward.The 175-year lease has been agreed at a ‘peppercorn’ rent of £1 per year if asked.
The report added the station will improve “access to jobs and services” and to the Dams to Darnley Country Park. The council is set to submit the full business case to the City Region’s programme management offices next month.
