The GSDC is a not-for-profit board charged with encouraging economic development opportunities in the community.
Residents interested in applying can find more information on InvestSudbury.ca. Applications must be submitted by noon on March 31. In particular, the GSDC seeks to recruit residents of Greater Sudbury with experience and expertise related to tourism, entrepreneurship, mining supply and services, advanced education, research and innovation, health services and arts and culture.
“Nominations are completed in accordance with the GSDC Diversity Statement and the City of Greater Sudbury’s Diversity Policy, which support diversity in all of its forms, including but not limited to age, disability, economic circumstances, marital status, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and gender expression, race, religion and sexual orientation. Consideration will also be given for both demographic and geographic representation of Greater Sudbury.
The GSDC Board of Directors meets once a month, beginning at 11:30 a.m., for approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Appointments are three-year terms, allowing members the opportunity to sit on several committees focused on evaluating frontline economic development projects.
