Greater Manchester weekend weather as rain and thunderstorms forecast

Heavy rain is expected to fall today

According to forecasters at the Met Office, heavy rain is expected to fall across our region today . Showers are forecast from around 9am, with wet weather predicted for the majority of the day.

From around 8pm this evening, cloudier weather is forecast with mostly dry weather expected through the night. Highs of around 18C are forecast for Friday.The Met Office predicts thunderstorms over our region on Saturday, with thunder showers forecast at around 11am and again at around 3pm. Sunny intervals will change to rain showers throughout the day.

The mercury is expected to reach a high of around 19C. Some heavy rain is expected to fall overnight on Saturday into Sunday. On Sunday, the heavy showers are expected to clear by around 10am, though lighter showers may still fall in the afternoon.
