Greater Manchester's hour by hour weather forecast after snow shuts Manchester Airport
More snow and ice is expected across the country today as the Met Office extends its yellow weather warning further into the midlands.
It comes as Manchester Airport has had to close both its runways following 'heavy snow fall'. The airport says it will reopen its runways as soon as possible.A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said: "Following a period of heavy snow fall, we have temporarily closed both runways. Health and safety will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity. Passengers are advised to contact their airline for the most up-to-date flight information.
