The average cost of a home is becoming much cheaper in these six parts of the region, making it much easier to find an affordable house
The property market is showing signs of cooling down across the UK - which is good news for house hunters and first-time buyers hoping to get a foot on the ladder. Nationwide's latest house price index revealed that house prices are on the decline across the country, with the average cost of a home dropping by 5.3 percent over the last 12 months.
Whilst looking at the latest average house prices in every postcode area across Greater Manchester, which was compiled using data from the Land Registry, we found six postcodes where prices have become cheaper, which may make buying a home in these areas much more affordable.READ MORE: 'We couldn't afford to retire in UK - now we live mortgage-free in Lanzarote'M15 M15, which covers Hulme, has seen the biggest drop in house prices throughout Greater Manchester over the last year.
M50 M50, which covers Salford Quays, has also seen a big house price reduction over the last year. Properties in the waterfront location, which is home to MediaCityUK, has a current average house price of £195,300. M35 House prices have fallen by around 6 percent in the M35, which covers Failsworth, over the last 12 months. Property prices in the Oldham town were around £211,260 back in 2022, but have now dropped by just over six percent. The average cost of a home in the postcode area is now £198,271 after a reduction of around £13,000.
