The great white shark that washed up on the shore in North Sydney was spotted by a resident who lives there. DFO was able to transport the dead animal on Wednesday and brought it to Ocearch researchers. CONTRIBUTED/LAURA BROPHYNORTH SYDNEY — Laura Brophy had never seen a great white shark in person before Wednesday.
Brophy said they first thought of using a crane to help lift the female shark up but due to where she was, the crane couldn't reach her. The shark was brought to Hope for Wildlife in Seaforth, N.S. where it was examined by staff from DFO, Dalhousie University and the Marine Animal Response Society.
