A granddad from Burnley is over the moon after a builder repaid a £500 deposit paid over a month ago for work that was never carried out.
Jade, from Padiham, said Victor had been left feeling "stupid" and "embarrassed" and feared he would never see his £500 again. LancsLive spoke to builder David who promised to re-pay the money within the next seven days and last night Victor was "over the moon" when the money landed in his son's bank account.
Trading Standards advice: How to find a good trader Recommendations and references are good ways to find reliable contractors who do a good job. If you can’t get personal recommendations from people you know, ask contractors for references. Compare quotes A quote is a promise from the contractor to do the work at a fixed price. Don’t rely on a verbal quote - get it in writing. Some contractors charge for quotes - ask about this first.
