“Based on their dominance of international football since the last World Cup, Gracenote projects Brazil and Argentina to continue to outperform competitors in the upcoming tournament,” Simon Gleave, head of analysis for Gracenote Sports, said in a statement. “No other teams have been anywhere near as consistent over the last four years as the two South American giants and this consistency means that there is a good chance of one of them prevailing in front of a global audience of fans.”tap here to see other videos from our teamAmong the leading European contenders to win the World Cup are Spain and the Netherlands, both with a 7% chance, Belgium with a 6% chance and World Cup holders France with a 5% chance of a repeat performance.
Sadly, Gracenote gives Canada — competing in their first men’s World Cup in 36 years — only a 1% chance of wining, along with eight other countries including Mexico, the U.S. and host country Qatar.
