There have been concerns about the growing number of violent incidents at schools in the province.
KZN education spokesperson Kwazi Mthethwa says while they have summits and school safety programmes, communities also need to step up.He says pupils' behaviour is generally influenced by what they experience in their communities. "We have never had a subject that teaches learners how to burn a car, how to burn school property - we do not offer such subjects.ALSO READ:"That is why we are saying as much as we are able to fight these kinds of behaviours as a Department of Education, what is society, community and parents doing? They also have a role to play in the future of their own kids."
