Government's wage offer a favour to public servants, 'Sibazamile' - Godongwana
This is how Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana explained government’s 3% wage increase offer to state employees.
Godongwana explained:"On August 30, government made a final offer, which emanated from a facilitation process. In May 2018, an agreement signed by government and public unions contained three clauses that regulated wage increases for 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21. However, in 2020, government declined to implement the collective wage agreement for the financial year 2020/21.
