Government has responded to reports about amendments to the Ministerial handbook but hasn't provided clarity on the removal of a R5,000 cap on municipal utilities.

CAPE TOWN - Government has responded to reports about amendments to the Ministerial handbook.It maintains Public Works is responsible for providing water and electricity to state-owned residences.

Government says the provisions are part of the package that comes with being a Member of the Executive.It says only the seat of government, the Union Buildings and Parliament are protected.
