The company detected the potential security breach on December 23, 2024, involving one of its cloud storage databases. Routine monitoring identified a vulnerability affecting company-related documents required for Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) verification and register records.
Govchain immediately secured the affected system, launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts, and implemented additional monitoring measures. While there is no evidence of misuse, Govchain warns of a possibility of unauthorized access, increasing the risk of phishing attempts or fraudulent activities. They advise customers to be cautious of unsolicited requests for sensitive information.
