COLUMBUS, Ohio —More programs for children’s literacy, mental health , and childcare were proposed during the hour-long speech.
“A number of Ohio schools have made the decision to eliminate smartphone use during the school day and I believe clearly that is the right decision,” he said. “These phones are clearly detrimental to learning.” “That's not what people voted for,” he said. “That is what the current law allows and will continue to allow and until we do something about it.”“On some issues, there is quite a bit of room for agreement,” said Rep. Allison Russo , the House minority leader.
“Too many Ohioans are finding themselves living in a state that they believe is headed in the wrong direction, mainly because the politicians in charge here, the Republican supermajority, do not reflect our values as Ohioans,” she said.
