During its Q3 earnings call, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai confirmed Google's AI agents will only be launched in 2025.
The company was initially rumoured to be launching one for Chrome in the coming weeks.on Google’s plan for AI agents, which are the multimodal artificial intelligence experiences that many companies are now focusing on.
This according to Alphabet CEO, Sundar Pichai, who unpacked some of the company’s plans regarding AI agents during a “Our research teams also drive our industry-leading Gemini model capabilities, including long context understanding, multimodality, and agentive capabilities. By any measure — token volume, API calls, consumer usage, business adoption — usage of the Gemini models is in a period of dramatic growth. And our teams are actively working on performance improvements and new capabilities for our range of models,” he enthused in the call.
For those unfamiliar with Project Astra, it is the codename assigned to the ecosystem in which the AI agents exist. It is also something that Google showcased at its I/O developer conferencemultimodal capabilities for its Claude generative AI platform, it looks like it is leading the way when it comes to AI agents.
