The Google doodle celebrates South Africa's sixth democratic election.

JOHANNESBURG - Google celebrated South Africa's elections on Wednesday by replacing its logo with a doodle which marked the historical event in the country.

The doodle depicts a ballot box with the South African flag which when clicked on links to a range of articles which are related to the elections.This is not the first time the internet search engine has changed its doodle to recognize local events and people, in April, Google celebrated Hugh Masekela on what would have been his 80th birthday.

On Freedom Day the company featured the national flag which was adopted 25 years ago and was designed by a former State Herald Fred Brownell.
