Alphabet Inc’s Google is planning to slow hiring for the rest of the year, in line with other tech giants who have either made similar decisions or announced job cuts.

Historically, Google has remained relatively immune to the economic dips of the technology sector, but in an internal memo seen by Bloomberg News, chief executive officer Sundar Pichai highlighted the uncertain global economic outlook as the key reason for the hiring slowdown.Hard to believe we’re already through the first half of 2022. It’s the right opportunity to thank everyone for the great work so far this year, and to share how my Leads and I are thinking about H2.
