The decrease in the price of petrol expected in December mirrors international trends.
The AASA says the price of petrol coming down is in line with international trends but could’ve been better if the Rand performed better against the Dollar this month.
However, considering we’re less than two weeks out from that day, this analysis may prove useful for those planning their holiday trip. The AASA reports that the price of ULP95 will come down by R0.05 per litre, ULP93 will see a price reduction of R0.16 per litre. Meanwhile diesel will increase by between R0.38 and R0.40 per litre.while petrol’s anticipated decrease is good news despite being miniscule in the face of a R0.25 increase in November.
Again, these are just estimates and even the AASA says that anything could affect these prices between now and 4th December. Official announcements about the fuel price will probably be released sometime next week at the end of November.
