In Canada, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland is an advocate of rapidly transitioning away from fossil fuels to green energy as “an insurance policy against higher energy prices” — the opposite of what her government’s policies are actually doing. She supports Canada providing Europe with liquid natural gas to help make up for Putin curtailing its supply.
