The hot and humid weather continues as we start the new work week.
Monday will see the hot and humid weather continue across much of the Province as the southerly and southwesterly flow continues to pump the heat across the region. The exception will be south-facing shores, where it will be decidedly cooler, cloudy, and foggy in onshore winds.
Areas inland, and north of the onshore flow, will see temperatures in the mid-20s to near 30, or higher, this afternoon. Humidex values will be in the mid-30s to near 40. A Heat Warning is in effect for a large area of the Island north of the South Coast, west of the Avalon, and south of the GNP. At the moment, there is not much relief in sight from the hot weather. There is also the risk of some afternoon showers over the western sections of the Island today.
Labrador will see highs in the 20s to near 30 as well today. It will be cooler in the south, in the onshore flow. And by south, I mean like right on the Straight of Belle Isle. An area of rain will also work through the Big Land from west to east throughout the day. This looks to be a warm front, which will bring another bout of hot weather tomorrow. Temperatures will crack 30 on Tuesday and Heat Warnings may be required.
