A goat in Virginia helped police to catch and capture a suspect they were chasing.
Two deputies were investigating a domestic assault case in Henry County a little over a week ago when the incident occurred. As soon as one of the deputies, David Parnell, informed the suspect how he was under arrest, he ran, crossing through a fence line and darting across a field with the officer in hot pursuit.
Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a goat appeared and joined in on the chase. The animal zoomed in front of the running deputy and into the woods after the man. The goat and the other deputy—who was on the other side of the woods—managed to flush the suspect out together. He was promptly taken into custody.how the goat—whose name turned out to be Gracie— wasn’t some wild creature with a penchant for justice and did, in fact, actually belong to someone nearby.
“The goat was returned to its owner by Deputy Parnell once the incident was resolved,” confirms Henry County Sheriff’s Office captain, Scott Barker., when asked if Gracie was going to get any kind of recognition for her assist in the arrest and her dedication to keeping the peace, Barker replied, “That’s about all I know at this point.”Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
