Despite policy differences - the ANC says the 10 political parties in the GNU are on the same page about the job.

JOHANNESBURG – The African National Congress says there is no room for political grandstanding in the Government of National Unity – as concerns re-emerge that parties are not singing from the same hymn book.

The ANC’s national executive committee is currently meeting in Boksburg, where it’s expected to spend the next few days discussing the GNU coalition and other pressing party matters.“Political grandstanding in the GNU, everyone will try to do that but they will be seen for who they are. What government is supposed to do for the interest of the people first, is to deliver and that’s how GNU will be analysed.

Following reports from News 24 that some ANC top brass are frustrated that GNU partners are outperforming the ANC Mbalula, shared his thoughts. “We are not discussing DA ministers and how effective they are, we are discussing how do we consolidate the project of the National Democratic Revolution within the GNU.”The ANC said the party was not preoccupied with leadership battles amid claims President Cyril Ramaphosa’s job is on the rocks.

Following the ANC’s dismal election results, there were questions about Ramaphosa’s future as the leader.“We come from a horrible, disastrous election campaign that gave us 40% and the first thing we think about is who becomes the leader after President Ramaphosa? It can’t be. That discussion, we are going to suppress it to the moon and back.”“We know that there are people whispering - we’ll find them, and we will suppress them.
