Minister Ronald Lamola says the GNU looks forward to rebuilding trade with UK.

International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola says the Government of National Unity looks forward to rebuilding trade and investment relations with the United Kingdom.This is as Prince of Wales William is in the country this week, to officiate at the fourth Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony that honours future leaders that are driving transformative change in climate action and sustainability.

The bilateral meeting comes on the back of a recent visit by Deputy President Paul Mashatile to the UK in an effort to rebuild investor confidence.| Minister said they have a number of issues they are going to engage on, including those related to climate change, global finance, global solidarity & geopolitical considerations & a number of issues that came out of

“Your excellency, as you know, our trade and investment relations have stagnated somewhat, not only because of COVID-19 pandemic, but also because of general state of global economy and various domestic challenges. The state visit in 2022 by President Ramaphosa and recent working visit by Deputy President Mashatile, aim to provide renewed impetus to our bilateral engagement.”
