GloRilla's concert left two women dead and several others injured: 'Everyone is panicking. I don't know what's going on, nobody knows which way to run, honestly, like nobody knew which way to go.'
Just after 11:00 p.m. Sunday, concertgoers were leaving the venue following the show, which featured musicians GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes, when, per Smith, the crowd started to surge and rush toward the exit. There were reports of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots inside the venue,"causing the crowd to panic," he said.
Following the aftermath of the deadly stampede, ET spoke with Cynquest Anderson, who was in the crowd, about what led to the chaotic event and how the energy was in the venue before, during and after the crowd's surge. Anderson noted the police presence on the scene, saying,"The police officer was pushing people this way and that way. By the time I got to the middle of the building, people were all over the place. Laying all over the place, they ended up pushing us away from those people that needed help.
"You walk out the door one day, thinking you're just going to have a good time, and you don't make it home to your family. That's so very unfortunate, and it shouldn't happen. But things do happen. You just gotta be aware and hope that everyone is safe, you know, especially going to events like this," she said.ET has reached out to both GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes' reps for comment.
