EXCLUSIVE: Rip Off Britain and Loose Women icon Gloria Hunniford speaks to OK! about why she still loves working and how she’s helping others keep their health in check
Having spent the last six decades working in TV and radio, Gloria Hunniford needs little introduction. And the presenter, who celebrates her 84th birthday this week, is showing no signs of slowing down.
“In Northern Ireland, you’re taught to work and I still want to work. I’m the oldest person on the Loose Women team, Janet Street-Porter being the next one down,” she tells us. “Every day I have to read about somebody else. I read the research, I get to meet new people and I get to interview people. The foundation raises money for grants that are awarded to smaller cancer charities throughout Britain. As a result of her efforts, Gloria was awarded an OBE for services to cancer charities in 2017, though there’s still plenty more she’d like to achieve.
“It would be based on Hollywood men and Hollywood women. I don’t think anybody’s going to give me another chat show at this point. But I still have the footage of what I did.” “I was absolutely shocked because he was a strong man and very clever, and there he was in a bed with sides up that was more like a cot and he couldn’t move down one side and he wasn’t speaking very well either.”
Stephen was seen straight away and received the injection. “I believe it saved Stephen’s life,” Gloria says.
