We chat with RabbitHole EPs Glenn Ficarra & John Requa about nabbing Kiefer Sutherland, mixing romance with their thriller, and keeping the audience on their toes:
Rabbit Hole has its protagonist John Weir questioning everything he knows, and it leaves the audience asking even more questions. Paramount+'s new series, which premieres on March 26, stars Kiefer Sutherland as an expert on corporate espionage who gets outplayed by forces more powerful than he can imagine. After several seasons of 24, Sutherland is no stranger to the genre — but his new series tacks on a few extra layers the actor is sure to have fun with.
Glenn Ficarra & John Requa Talk Rabbit Hole Screen Rant: I loved Rabbit Hole and its seamless transition from corporate espionage to espionage-espionage. How did you guys handle those tonal shifts? John Requa: The show is set in a world where truth is unreliable, and you don't know what reality is. We thought, "Wouldn't it be great to explore a character who grew up in this world? What damage did that cause?" And what you learn over the course of the series, without giving away too much, is that it in fact gave him his superpower. But it also damaged them. And in order to succeed by the end of the season, he has to overcome that damage.
