There may be a thunderstorm on the way, but there's also sun ☀️
Glasgow is set to be blessed with a sunshine once again this week after parts of the city and surrounding area saw rainfall breaking the sunny streak.
Sadly, the storm hasn't passed quite yet with parts of the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area affected by another Met Office yellow warning for thunderstorms. Set to come into force today , the warning kicks off at 12pm and will remain in place until 9pm. Another warning was issued for tomorrow but this will not affect Glasgow.Despite a dodgy start, the rest of the week is looking pretty good with highs of 27C predicted to warm the city up on Tuesday followed by 26C Wednesday. After this, highs of 25C are expected all week - and into the weekend - making it another bright week and ample opportunity to soak up the sun.
The forecasters state: "Although some places will miss them, thunderstorms are likely to develop over parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland from early Monday afternoon. These will be fairly slow moving with the potential for large rainfall amounts in a short period of time. 20-30 mm of rain may fall in an hour or less in a few spots with perhaps 40-50 mm possible if successive showers affect the same location. Frequent lightning is also likely to be a hazard along with hail.
