The 37-year-old man was crossing the road when he was knocked down.
The 37-year-old pedestrian was crossing Balshagray Avenue, near its junction with Crow Road, around 12.20am on Monday when he was struck by a grey Volkswagen Tiguan.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.The road was closed for around five hours and reopened around 5.20am on Monday morning. Constable Simon Parker said: “Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist us, to make contact.
