An exciting new venture from Ashoka opened last night

industry veteran Sanjay Majhu, hosted the grand opening of their latest venture which hopes to bring a signature dose of spice to Cumbernauld Road in Muirend.Special guests including North Lanarkshire provost Kenneth Duffy were invited to sample a menu full of aromatic and flavourful dishes from Reshmi Chicken Masala with spinach and garlic to a veggie-friendly Chana Masala with tomato, ginger and red peppers.

In a charitable twist for the first diners at the new spot, all proceeds from the first two days of trading will be donated to CHASE Africa as well as an appeal to support those affected by the recent earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Speaking ahead of the opening, Glasgow curry legend and former manager of Cafe India Raj Bajwe, who works in partnership with Ashoka, said:"We always do our homework when we look for locations and Muirhead is a lovely area but we felt it could really do with a good restaurant."Inside the restaurant is absolutely beautiful.

"Head chef Chandan is one of the best chefs in Glasgow and he has come up with beautiful food for Ashoka in Muirhead."In my opinion, this is one of the best Ashokas we have ever opened."
