New CCTV coverage is planned in areas which aren’t “particularly visible to the public”.
Cameras are set to be installed in the north east of the city as part of plans to crack down on fly-tipping hotspots.
Cllr Ruairi Kelly, SNP, who chairs the partnership, said: “I’m sure all the members will be aware of the problems we’ve had with that [fly-tipping] across the city. Adding mobile CCTV to lighting columns is expected to cost between £2,000 and £4,000 — and two cameras are set to be installed at this stage.
